Western Australia’s Wheatbelt is undergoing a national promotional bonanza through a Live, Work, Visit and Invest campaign run by regional marketing group Heartlands WA.
The campaign will be officially launched in February 2012 with an innovative “my place/your place” theme, supported by the Wheatbelt Development Commission, Regional Development Australia Wheatbelt, and Landcorp.
Under the direction of Chairperson Suzanne Woods, Heartlands WA is determined to ensure increased economic development of the region through retaining and attracting residents, businesses, tourists and investors.
“With attractions including Wildflowers, Wave Rock, Tin Horse Highway, the Pinnacles and annual events such as the Dowerin Field Day, Wagin Woollarama and Mukinbudin Spring Festival, the Wheatbelt is bursting with diversity and opportunity,” Ms Woods said.
“We have an extremely committed board of nine members, who are determined to use all available resources to promote our part of the world.
"The Wheatbelt is as energetic as it is strong and comprises an area of 154, 862 square kilometres, that’s more than twice the size of Tasmania,” Ms Woods said.
Caroline Robinson, 2011 Australian Rural Woman of the Year says the Wheatbelt has a lot to offer.
“Australia’s Golden Outback magazine describes the Wheatbelt in their 2011/2012 holiday guide as a patchwork of golden fields, character townships, pioneering history, fun farm stays, festivals and self drives,” Caroline said.
“We are all that and more, and we are out to tell the world about it.”
The recently launched web portal, www.heartlandswa.com.au is highly interactive, allowing users to upload photos and add events directly to the site and we encourage residents, visitors and investors to visit the webpage.” says Chairperson, Suzanne Woods.
Heartlands WA has been established as a new broader reaching whole-of-region marketing organisation with the focus on marketing opportunities that will drive success and growth within the Wheatbelt region.
